If you haven't already, check out this exhibit in Enicinitas!  NaturaLook employee, Kristin, has her jewelry in the show.  Trios Gallery was once a brick and morter gallery on Cedros in Solana Beach.  Now they are trying out the new "pop-up" phenomenon in which galleries, restaurants, etc. are showing up in different locations for a limited period of time. 

The pop-up gallery show is almost over so check out the fabulous work by local artists while you can!

You may have heard that Cirque du Soleil is in town!  Maybe you've even had a chance to see the show, Totem, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.  Several of us at NaturaLook are going this Thursday and we can't wait!  The costumes and music are always so etherial, it's like being transported to a magical land where fantasy becomes reality.  If you have seen the show and wanted a momento, you can buy Totem shirts on the Cirque website for $10!  Let us know if you've seen the show and what you thought of it.  We'd love to hear from you!

We would like to thank everyone who made our Areola Tattooing & Scar Camouflage Workshop a successful event. From the speakers, to the participants, the models and all the staff from both the Beau Institute and NaturaLook.  We'd like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your incredible efforts.

We were fortunate enough to have over twenty students in attendance. The ladies and gentlemen were so enthusiastic over their newly acquired knowledge that many have also signed for our proctor day this Monday, April 30^th! We can hardly wait to greet them at our home and hopefully offer more useful tips!

We hope that everyone left feeling ready to take on any areola or scar camouflage case that comes their way!

It has been a busy week at NaturaLook! We are putting the final touches on the Areola Complex Tattooing and Scar Camouflage Workshop taking place this Sunday and Monday, April 22^nd and 23^rd. With the help of the staff at the Beau Institute, our wonderful speakers, and our graceful models, we are hoping that this workshop will be a great learning experience for all our attendees.

As we finalize the last details it’s nice to reflect on the last few months, from the moment the idea of an areola and scar camouflage workshop came about, to fine tuning all of the details that go into creating a workshop; we have placed our hearts and souls into making this an experience our attendees will not forget.

With that said, it is our hope here at NaturaLook that our efforts flourish into an exuberant and unique learning experience. We are extremely excited  that everyone will learn and prosper from the expertise that has been brought on our panel.

Huge relief to find Jeannie and Naturalook. I lost brows and lashes from chemo, and they never really came back fully. I was really agonizing over where to go because some of the stuff I saw online was pretty horrible looking–really fake, little old lady stuff like someone just took a huge eyebrow pencil and drew them in. I liked her website, although you shouldn't judge the results by her photos–the photos are mostly of folks just minutes after they had the procedure done, and it always looks really heavy-handed just afterward. Takes about a week to fade to normal looking.

I liked the affiliation in one of the Scripps medical buildings–not some hole-in-the-wall place. Turns out that she's co-located with her husband's opthalmology practice. Also turns out that she trains and certifies other practitioners who want to start in the business. Her business is immaculately clean and organized, with professional front-office staff.

She is really, REALLY picky about color and shape and spends almost two hours with you just picking and choosing shapes, styles, colors, etc. that will work for you. Pretty nerve-wracking procedure, and I can't say it's totally pain-free, but it's about like waxing. The mental part is freaky (needles near your eye!), but that's my own thing to get over, nothing to do with the practitioner. She uses tons of numbing drops/creams, and she works FAST. She also has you come in about 4-6 weeks afterward for a touch-up, for adding fine "hair stroke" marks to brows, etc. It was a gamble, but I was hugely relieved that her practice turned out to be so professionally run, and that she's so knowledgeable. I even went back and had a little more dramatic work done because I liked it so much.

Oh, and regarding the chemo from my cancer, she also tattoos new areolas and nipples onto breast cancer survivors who've had mastectomies and reconstructed breasts. I've seen my surgeons' photos of their work, and I've seen her photos, and I'll take her any day. She does the breast work on cancer patients for free, supported by a grant. Could not ask for a better experience, all in all.

We were recently at the Head to Toe Women’s Expo and were fortunate enough to find a booth selling Juice Plus, a supplement offered in capsule form and as chewable gummies.   It is whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 17 different fruits, vegetables and grains.  So you get all your fruits and veggies for the day in a serving.  I don’t know about you but I am bad about eating fruits and veggies, and when I do eat them they’re usually cooked which makes them less nutritious.  I’ve been using the gummies for about a week now and I already feel like I have more energy.   I’d recommend giving them a try.  The gummies are so tasty, I find myself wanting to eat more than the recommended amount!
